All about the Majestic South India Tour.

  1. Day 1 Arrive Chennai

    Upon arrival transfer to Hotel with our office’s representative. Check in at Hotel and relax in the Hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel.

  2. Day 2 Chennai - Mahabalipuram(1.5 Hrs Drive)

    After breakfast, proceed for a guided city of Chennai visiting Kapaleeshwarar Temple -dedicated to Lord Shiva, the ancient shrine presents a sight to behold. Next, you will visit St. Thomas Cathedral Church – also famed as the San Thome Church, the sacred site dates back to 16th-century.  Parthasarathy Temple – one of the 108 Divya Desams of Lord Vishnu. The last attraction of the day is the Fort Museum – ranking amongst one of the best places to visit in Chennai, the fort is highly revered by the people.

    Later drive to Mahabalipuram. Stay overnight at the Hotel.

  3. Day 3 Mahabalipuram

    Today we will proceed for a Guided city tour of Mahabalipuram visiting the Shore Temple – overlooking the shore of Bay of Bengal, the temple is exclusively crafted from blocks of granite. Next on the list is the Pancha Rathas – all carved from a single huge rock, the five raths nestled on the southern end of Mamallapuram beguiles the visitors. Later visit the Arjuna’s Penance – one of the astounding attractions that showcase historic sculpture carved into boulders. The excursion ends at the Tiger Cave – a rock-cut Hindu temple deriving its name from tiger heads at the mouth of a cave. Stay overnight at the Hotel.

  4. Day 4 Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry (2 Hrs Drive)

    After breakfast leave for Pondicherry (90 km /2 hours). Pondicherry is a former French Colony known for its French Palaces, cobbled streets and above all for Auroville Ashram.

    Upon arrival transfer to Hotel and check in.

    In the afternoon proceed for half day city tour of Pondicherry visiting Varadaraja Perumal Temple – dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the ancient shrine sits on the banks of the Thamirabarani River. This is followed by a trip to Manakula Vinayagar Temple which is in existence before the French came. The site is the revered as the holy abode of Lord Ganesha. Last but not least place to visit is Vedapureeswarar Temple – a Hindu temple where Lord Shiva is worshipped as Vedapureeswarar. Also we can visit Auroville. Stay overnight at the hotel.

  5. Day 5 Pondicherry - Tanjore ( 6 hrs Drive)

    Today after breakfast leave for Thanjavur via Chidambaram (177 km / 6 hours). Check-in at the hotel.  Stay overnight at the hotel.

  6. Day 6 Tanjore Sightseeing

    Today after Breakfast we will proceed for city tour of Tanjore Visiting Sri Brihadeshwara temple. Reckoned as one the largest temples in South India, the shrine is also famed as the ’Great Living Chola Temples’, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Thanjavur Royal Palace and Art Gallery is the next attraction of the day. Having seven different directions to explore, the palace is counted as one of the oldest museums in Tamil Nadu.

    Stay overnight at the Hotel.

     

  7. Day 7 Tanjore - Trichy - Madurai (6 Hrs Drive)

    Today drive to Madurai via Trichy (192 km / 6 hours). On the way we can see some famous Temple in Trichy. Upon arrival transfer to hotel and check in, Stay overnight at the Hotel.

  8. Day 8 Madurai Sightseeing

    Today city tour of Madurai covering Sri Meenakshi Temple – the star attraction of the city. Flaunting towers, gateway, a golden shrine and statues, the shrine presents a sight to behold. The Dravidian architectural style adds to its ethereal charm.  Thirumalai Nayakkar Mahal which is a 17th-century palace. Showcasing a perfect fusion of Rajput and Dravidian style of architecture, the palace is definitely a must-visit destination.

    After noon we can see Thiruparankundram. A new town in Madurai, the place is famous for housing the Thirupparamkunram Murugan temple. Next visit is Gandh Palace – built in 1959, the museum is now one of the five Gandhi Sanghralayas in India.

    Evening watch grand Aarti ceremony in Meenakshi Temple. Return back to Hotel and stay overnight at the Hotel.

  9. Day 9 Madurai - Kannyakumari (4 Hrs Drive)

    Today drive to Kanyakumari. Upon arrival transfer to hotel and check in.

    Later we will proceed for city tour of Kanyakumari visiting the sea shore temple of Subrahmanyam, is one of the delightful spots sanctified and venerated by every Hindu. Later we can see Swami Vivekanand Rock Memorial. Visit the meditation hall and the smarak. Visit Kanyakumari mandir (One of the Fifty Two Shakti Peethas), Tri smudra milan & Gandhi mandapam. Evening visit Suchindram temple. (One of the Fifty Two Shakti Peethas).

  10. Day 10 Kanyakumari - Trivandrum ( 3 Hrs Drive)

    Today after breakfast drive to Trivandrum. On arrival in trivandrum we can see  Padmanabh Swami Temple, Raja Ravi Varma Art Gallery and Napier Museum (subject to operation). Later check in into Hotel. Stay overnight at the Hotel.

  11. Day 11 Trivandrum - Departure

    Today after breakfast we will drop you to Trivandrum airport to board flight for your onward destination.
